Hub Building and Prop Designs

This is the majority of the work I did for my Senior portfolio project, made during senior first semester. I'm very passionate about this IP and wanted to challenge myself by designing a hub area with gameplay in mind, but also pushing the fantastical elements in the project.

This building was inspired by the onions in Pikmin and Pokémon Daycares. Functionally, it works the same in-game as a place to drop off figures you aren't using. It was fun coming up with props for the figures to use, keeping in mind they're ceramic.

The living Kiln was inspired by the soot sprites in Spirited Away, with the clay figures working to keep the fire going. It serves as a place where you, as the player, bring lost souls you've collected to combine with a clay figure.

The main building of the Hub, The Pottery workshop. I wanted to create a fantasy feel, combining pottery shape language with Minoan architecture, and show that it's a workshop where souls are put into figures to bring them to life.

This machine was designed to add whimsy to the world and power an elevator in the workshop. I loved researching primitive technology and incorporating figures to run it.

The waterwheel-powered elevator was an exercise in challenging myself and learning a new skill set (basic animation in Blender) so that I could make a functional machine for my world
